“I’m not qualified enough.” “Nobody is going to hire me.” “I always mess things up when it matters most.”
Most of us carry beliefs like these without ever stopping to ask whether they’re actually true. They feel true. They’ve been with us long enough that they just seem like facts. But a belief and a fact are not the same thing, and the ones we never examine tend to be the ones doing the most damage.
That’s what this worksheet is designed to help you do.
The Belief Examination Worksheet walks you through three beliefs you’re currently holding, about yourself, about others, or about the world, and asks you four simple but powerful questions about each one. Is this a fact or an assumption? What evidence supports it, and what evidence pushes back against it? How does carrying this belief affect you? And what might be possible if you held something different instead?
It won’t tell you what to believe. It just gives you the space and the structure to finally look at what’s been running in the background, and decide for yourself whether it’s still worth keeping.
The Belief Examination Worksheet is available to paid members of the Resilient Career Academy.
If you are ready to move from understanding what you are feeling to knowing what to do about it, the rest of this article is waiting for you inside The Resilient Career Academy. I would love to have you there.
