The Resilient Career Philosophy
I believe trauma survivors matter. Their voices, experiences, work, and contributions matter.
I believe the after-effects of complex trauma can follow us into our careers and create obstacles that keep us from accessing our full potential, but I also believe those obstacles can be removed.
I believe our experiences have not only shaped our struggles, but they may also have helped us develop valuable skills, strengths, and perspectives that the world needs.
And I believe all of us, individuals, leaders, employers, career professionals, and colleagues, have a role in creating the conditions that allow people to bring more of what they have to offer.
Most importantly, I believe every person gets to decide what success means for them.
The goal isn’t to tell trauma survivors what their careers should become. It’s to help remove the obstacles that limit their choices, so their past doesn’t get to make that decision for them.
